Southern Fire Protection Ltd offers a professional portable appliance testing service. We are able to test and certify any electrical equipment used within your place of work.
Tested portable equipment is labelled with pass or fail stickers and this is accompanied by a log which gives a full report on the work carried out.

Health and safety regulations require that the electrical appliances be safe to prevent harm to the workers. Many types of equipment require testing at regular intervals to ensure continual safety; the interval between tests depends on both the type of appliance and the environment it is used in.
The Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) places an obligation for regular electrical testing in the following circumstances:
- Where appliances are used by employees.
- Where the public may use appliances in establishments such as hospitals, schools, hotels & shops.
- Where appliances are supplied or hired.
- Where appliances are repaired or serviced.
